Lorraine H.'s Story
Life
Attended Hofstra University 1/2 year as a Music major, transferred to Adelphi University as a Physical Education major where I earned my Bachelor and Master's Degrees. I began teaching in the Connetquot School District for 1 semester. I interviewed and was hired by the Lindenhurst School District, and taught physical education for 32 years. I retired in June 2000, and am absolutely loving retirement.

olk County Girls Athletic Association and was in office during their merger with Section XI.
Most recent honors include recognition from the Suffolk Board of Women Officials, Suffolk Zone, the Crown Trophy Award at Stony Brook & the State recepient of the Pathfinder Award from NAGWS.
At Lindenhurst I chaired many Jump Rope for Heart events for 20 years and witnessed outstanding support from the students and community enabling us to raise over $125,000. During this time I served on the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association.
Those 32 years seemed to pass by very quickly. I'm now able to travel and spend time in Coram, Fire Island and Fort Lauderdale.
